Terms of Service | FigCAD

The rules for using FigCAD's image to CAD converter and free tools: your uploads, AI-generated drawings, credits, subscriptions, payments and refunds.

Last updated: 2026-10-16

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and FigCAD ("FigCAD", "we", "us"), the operator of figcad.org. By creating an account or using FigCAD, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use FigCAD.

If you use FigCAD on behalf of a company or other organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organization.

2. What FigCAD does

FigCAD lets you upload a photo, drawing, scan or sketch. Third-party AI models redraw it as a clean line drawing, and FigCAD then converts that drawing into vector files (such as DXF, SVG or PDF) in your browser. FigCAD currently produces 2D drawings only.

AI generation is provided by third-party services that we call through API providers. Available models, features, output formats and credit costs may change over time. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove a paid feature you are actively paying for, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country, if higher) to use FigCAD. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
  • Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password and API keys safe. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away at support@figcad.org if you think someone else has accessed it.
  • One person per account. Don't create multiple accounts to collect extra free credits or to get around a suspension.

4. Your content and our permission to use it

You keep your rights. You own the images, drawings and other material you upload ("Your Content"). We don't claim ownership of it.

The permission you give us. So that we can run FigCAD for you, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, process and transmit Your Content, including sending it to our AI and infrastructure providers, and to show you the results. We use this permission only to provide, secure and support the service for you. It ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, except for copies we must keep by law or that remain for a limited time in backups.

No training on your uploads. We do not use Your Content or your results to train our own AI models. Third-party AI providers process the data they receive under their own terms and policies, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Your results. As between you and FigCAD, you own the drawings and files the service generates for you ("Output"), and we assign to you any rights we may have in them. Keep in mind that:

  • AI may produce similar Output for other users, so Output may not be unique to you;
  • in some countries AI-generated material may have limited or no copyright protection;
  • your rights in the Output don't give you any rights in third-party material contained in your input.

Storage is temporary. By default we keep uploads and results for 30 days, after which they may be deleted. FigCAD is not a backup or archive service. Download the files you want to keep.

5. What you may not upload or do

You are responsible for Your Content and for having all the rights and permissions needed to upload it. Do not upload or use FigCAD to create:

  • material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, patent, design right or trade secret, such as drawings, plans or product designs you don't own or aren't licensed to use;
  • confidential drawings you are not allowed to share, such as a client's or employer's documents covered by a non-disclosure agreement;
  • anything illegal, including content that exploits or harms minors;
  • designs for weapons, weapon parts or other items whose design or manufacture is illegal where you are, or technical data controlled by export laws without the required authorization;
  • personal information or images of other people without a lawful basis to share them;
  • malware or files designed to attack or disrupt systems.

You also agree not to:

  • break any law that applies to you;
  • try to get unauthorized access to FigCAD, other accounts or our providers' systems;
  • get around credit limits, rate limits, payment or security measures;
  • scrape the site or access FigCAD with bots or scripts, except through the API and API keys we provide, within their limits;
  • resell or share access to FigCAD without our written permission;
  • use FigCAD or its Output to build a competing service or to train AI models that compete with FigCAD;
  • interfere with the service or with other people's use of it.

We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If you believe content on FigCAD infringes your rights, see section 11.

6. Output accuracy: check before you build

FigCAD uses AI to interpret images. AI can misread lines, skip or invent details, distort proportions, and get scale, units and dimensions wrong. Photos taken at an angle, low-resolution scans and hand sketches make errors more likely.

Output is a starting point, not a verified engineering drawing. Before you use any Output for manufacturing, machining, laser or CNC cutting, construction, permits, quotes or any other real-world purpose, you must check every dimension, scale, unit, tolerance and feature yourself, or have a qualified professional check it.

FigCAD is not engineering, architectural or professional advice and does not replace a licensed engineer or architect. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for wasted material, damaged parts, rework, production delays, failed inspections or any other loss that comes from using Output without checking it.

7. Credits, plans and payments

Credits. Each generation uses credits. The cost is shown before you start. If a generation fails (an error or no result returned), the credits it used are returned to your account automatically. A generation that completes but whose result you don't like is not a failed generation, so its credits are not returned automatically. If a result is clearly broken, contact us and we will look at it.

Credit rules. Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred to another account or exchanged for money, and can only be used on FigCAD. Credits expire on the date shown at purchase or in your account. Free credits (for example, a sign-up bonus) are a promotion and may be changed or ended at any time.

Subscriptions. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the price then in effect, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep your plan benefits until then. If we change a subscription price, we will tell you before the change applies to your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.

One-time purchases. One-time credit packs, and payment methods that don't support automatic renewal (for example Alipay or WeChat Pay, where offered), are charged once and don't renew.

Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment processor we offer at checkout, under their own terms. Prices may not include taxes such as VAT or sales tax, which may be added where required. You authorize us and our payment processor to charge your chosen payment method for the purchases and renewals you make.

8. Refunds

  • First purchase, unused: if you contact us within 7 days of a payment and you have not used any credits from that purchase, we will refund it in full.
  • Charged by mistake: duplicate charges, or charges after you correctly cancelled, are refunded in full.
  • Everything else: other payments, including renewals and purchases whose credits you have started to use, are non-refundable, and we don't give partial refunds for the unused part of a billing period, except where the law requires otherwise.
  • When a payment is refunded, the credits granted by that payment are removed from your account.

To ask for a refund, email support@figcad.org from your account email with the order details. Please contact us before opening a chargeback with your bank. We may suspend an account while a chargeback on it is open.

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK: by buying credits or a subscription, you ask us to start providing the digital service immediately, and you acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal for a purchase once you start using its credits. This does not affect any other rights you have under consumer law.

9. Third-party services

FigCAD relies on third-party services, including AI providers, Cloudflare for hosting and storage, and payment processors. Their availability and behavior are outside our full control. We may switch providers or models at any time to keep the service running or to improve results. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services that FigCAD links to.

10. Our intellectual property

FigCAD's website, software, design, logo and brand belong to us or our licensors. These Terms don't give you any rights in them, other than the right to use the service as described here. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely without paying you or owing you anything.

11. Copyright and infringement complaints

If you believe content on FigCAD infringes your copyright or other rights, email support@figcad.org with: your contact details, a description of the work or right being infringed, where the content appears on FigCAD, a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized, a statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and your physical or electronic signature. We will review it, may remove the content, and will close the accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate.

12. Suspension and termination

You can stop using FigCAD and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a pending refund request and doesn't by itself entitle you to a refund.

We may suspend or close your account, with or without notice, if you break these Terms, if we must do so by law, or if your use creates risk or legal exposure for FigCAD or others. If we close your account because you broke these Terms, unused credits are forfeited and no refund is due.

If we decide to shut down FigCAD entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any prepaid subscription period.

Sections that by their nature should continue after termination, including sections 4 (Output), 6, 8, 10 and 13 to 16, continue to apply.

13. Disclaimers

FigCAD is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that Output will be accurate, complete or fit for any particular purpose, and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • FigCAD will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, materials, production or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use FigCAD or any Output;
  • FigCAD's total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid FigCAD in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US$50.

Some countries don't allow these limits. Where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

15. Your responsibility to us

If someone makes a claim against FigCAD because of Your Content or because you broke these Terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, to the extent the law allows.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the place where FigCAD's operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us at support@figcad.org so we can try to resolve it informally. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts where those laws allow it.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and if a change is significant we will tell you by email or through the service before it takes effect. If you keep using FigCAD after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, stop using FigCAD and cancel any subscription.

18. General

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and FigCAD about the service. If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce one of our rights straight away, we haven't given it up. You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of the service. If the English version of these Terms and a translation differ, the English version applies, unless the law requires otherwise.
